Fletcher Seminary is excited to announce our upcoming May 19 online Lunch and Learn event, “AI and Christian Ministry: Balancing Innovation and Ethics,” featuring Dr. Jonathan Davis, Associate V.P. of Communications and CIO at Fletcher Seminary. Dr. Davis is a church technology expert with over twenty years of experience, and he is teaching a Summer trimester certificate class titled “Communications In Churches and Nonprofits.”
The 40 minute event will begin on Friday, May 19 at 11:30 AM (CST) on our Facebook page, and it’s designed to explore the ethical considerations of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Christian ministry. During the event, Dr. Davis will discuss how AI is already being used in ministry, without people realizing it, and what ethical considerations should be kept in mind while using AI in ministry.
As AI becomes more prevalent in our daily lives, it’s essential to consider its impact on various aspects of Christian ministry. AI has the potential to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and provide new opportunities for ministry, but it’s crucial to ensure that it’s used ethically.
Dr. Davis will cover topics like bias and fairness, human dignity, transparency and accountability, privacy and data protection, spirituality and faith, human connection and relationship, responsibility and control. This event aims to provide participants with a better understanding of the ethics of AI and how it can be used in ministry effectively.
The event will be an online lunch and learn, streaming live on our Facebook page. Participants can join the event from the comfort of their homes or offices. We encourage participants to ask questions, share their thoughts, and engage with Dr. Davis and fellow participants during the event.
If you’re interested in exploring the intersection of AI and Christian ministry and want to ensure that technology is used ethically in ministry, this event is for you. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from an expert in the field and engage in meaningful discussions about the ethics of AI in Christian ministry.
